Webinar: Using OpenRefine to clean data

This tutorial will introduce OpenRefine, a free, open-source tool for exploring, cleaning and reshaping data. Participants will transform a sample spreadsheet of messy, disorganized data into a state where it can be analyzed meaningfully. Additionally, we’ll address some of the most common data-manipulation tasks, including:

• clean up spelling inconsistencies
• remove leading and trailing whitespace
• split cells into multiple columns
